The Kerala Government has opened a tourism information centre on Meenkarai Road in Pollachi. The centre was inaugurated by Kerala Forest Minister K. Raju recently. The centre has been established to popularise the Parambikulam Aliyar Eco-Tourism Project. Thousands of tourists throng round the year to witness wildlife and nature at the Parambikulam Aliyar tiger reserve next to the Anaimalai tiger reserve. Tourists have to reach Parambikulam via Top Slip. Even after reaching their, tourists have to obtain permission to visit the forest area. To attract more number of tourists, the Kerala government opened the centre. Conference hall Forest department officials from Kerala said the information centre has the facility to accommodate tourists with separate rooms, besides a conference hall.
